Already halfway through July and I cannot believe it. I am in complete denial that in just over one month, I will be the mother of a Middle Schooler, a Kindergartner and a 3rd Grader. If I refuse to believe it, does it make it less true? Probably not so I guess all I can do is continue to enjoy the time that we have right now just as we have for the past several weeks.
Below is photo documentation of some of the fun things we've done lately. There has been our annual Railroad Days trip to St. James which the girls and I parlayed into an extended vacation at Resort de la Mama and Papa. Included in this trip was volleyball, our first fishing trip on Dad's new boat, a birthday celebration for Ella and Scott, all of the fabulous events Railroad Days has to offer and a trip to the park...
Upon our return from my homeland, we set about more celebrating. Ella enjoyed her delicious birthday dessert compliments of Casa Del Rey...
We spent an afternoon strolling around the Outdoor Campus...
And then took Jason to one of our favorite haunts, the Butterfly House where one of Lily's dreams finally came true...
Before we knew it, we had hit the mid-point of Summer~the 4th of July. We opted to spend a relaxing day doing something that Jason has wanted to do all summer long, go fishing. Covell Lake in the heart of Sioux Falls was the fishing hole of choice and while we didn't bring home our evening meal, we did have a fabulous time...
We capped off our day of fishing with a trip to one of the many local firework stands for smoke balls and sparklers which kept the girls busy for the remainder of the evening...
Well, busy until bonfire and s'more time anyway...
In addition to all of the above fun, Jason and I also managed to squeeze in a night out on the town with a bunch of friends...
And a lovely cookout at Jason's parents house celebrating the birth of the Kolb family patriarch, John...
We've maintained a championship pace all summer and we are not about to quit now. Vacation in Brainerd,MN , school readiness and Valleyfair are just a few things on the calendar for the next month. We are going to finish out Summer 2011 strong! Hope you all are as well.
